Han Sung-jae – Founder and Creative Director
Han Sung-jae has more than 10 years experience in product development, branding and marketing. Han has been involved in all areas of the furniture industry from his start as a hands-on furniture maker to running his own successful design licensing business.
한성재 작가는 나무와 금속을 활용하여 작품을 만드는 공예가 입니다. 소리 또는 아나로그적 기능 등의 매개체를 이용하여 관객과 소통을 이끌어내는 작업을 합니다. 작가는 작품에 대한 별다른 안내 없이 어떠한 기능을 가진 작품을 관객 대부분이 직관적으로 이해 가능한 형태로 제공합니다. 관객은 작가의 의도와는 상관없이 작품에 부여된 기능을 능동적으로 시험해보면서 작품에 대해 이해하게 되고 그러한 일련의 과정까지 작품의 일부가 됩니다.
작품은 뛰어나진 않지만 쉽게 몰두할 수 있는 간소한 기능을 제공함으로써 관객이 더욱더 작품에 집중하도록 만들 수 있습니다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐 작품은 단순한 기능에서 끝나는 것이 아니라 각자의 몸에 익은 오래된 기억을 이끌어 내주는 “음향기억장치”의 역할을 하게 됩니다.
